To meet federal mandates and to participate in the risk spreading programs, HCSC must submit data to the federal government starting in 2014. Key elements in the implementation were highly parameterized development and use of Ab Initio Conditional Components for more complex transformations.

§    Designed and implemented a generic “engine” to generate metadata, create volumetric validation, create SQL objects, and generate structural transformations rules. The requirement of this engine was based on ad-hoc changes in the data model. This system reduced development cost by 75%.

§    Created a highly scalable “Run ETL Jobs” custom component as a job executing framework. The component provided functionality to execute jobs using a configuration file to easily modify execution order to analyze dependencies easily and tune performance. The component also allowed eliminating the use of “wrapper scripts” and improved error handling.
